My Story
From Colombo to Coimbatore – 15+ years of building, failing, and ranking. Here’s the full journey behind this site and everything on it.
Early Life – Colombo, Sri Lanka
I was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka. My parents worked incredibly hard with very little. My mother ground and packed Idli & Dosa batter at home – 1 KG for 50 rupees. That upbringing taught me one thing early: outcomes come from showing up consistently, not from ideal conditions.
School – The Turning Point
I attended St. Anthony’s Maha Vidyalayam through grade 8. A teacher recognised my potential. After joining Oasis International School, I studied intensively while continuing to help my parents. I went from 10th place to becoming a school prefect and sports captain.
Bachelor’s Degree – Fastest in the Cohort
While completing O-levels, I enrolled in a part-time IT degree at ESOFT Metro Campus – studying weekends while attending school on weekdays. I completed the 4-year programme in 2.5 years and achieved 95% across all subjects.
MSc in the UK – University of Greenwich
I earned my MSc in Software Engineering with Distinction from the University of Greenwich (2014-2016). My dissertation on an ‘Automated Search Engine Optimisation Management System’ was awarded ‘Most Interesting Project of the Year 2016’ by the faculty.
First Steps Online – Failures Before the Win
My path involved multiple failures. I lost $300 of savings to scams early on. I tried file-sharing, graphics sales, micro-niche sites. Most didn’t work. But I earned my first $15 online through file-hosting sites. That $15 meant more than any big number since – it proved it was possible.
Career & Building the Community
Around 2010, I discovered SEO. I built and ranked over 100 websites. The SaaS Pirate community grew to 15,000+ members. I published 426+ YouTube videos, taught 30,000+ students, and today serve as Senior Digital Marketing Manager at Brainstorm Force.
